Why create the deck?
I created The Insight Center Astrology Deck because I want people to understand and use astrology. Astrology is incredibly useful for understanding yourself and others.
Using a deck of cards to study the basics of Astrology is how I learned astrology! When I was learning Astrology, I created a deck of index cards. I had a card for each planet, sign, and house. I loved these cards and used them for my studies and to start reading charts. Each time I took a class, read an article or book, or listened to a teaching I would add more keywords to my stack of cards.
As a professional astrologer I want my clients to know and understand astrology so when something is happening in their lives or they are making big decisions, they can refer to their charts and say, “Ah, that’s Pluto in my 6th house!” and understand what that means.
Why this format?
This deck of cards gives you the fundamental information to understand astrology charts. I have distilled my almost 50 years of studying and reading charts into these cards and the key words for each planet, sign and house. It was a lot of work to distill the key words and concepts for each planet sign and house onto one card. There are entire books with key works for reference—but with over 100 key words for each planet, sign, and house, that is overwhelming!
With these cards, you can look at your chart or a chart of a friend or colleague, look at the chart planet by planet, see the sign and house placement and practice understanding what it means to have a certain planet in a certain sign and house. You can use these cards to read all of the planets in the chart.
Who are the cards for?
If you are a beginner these cards will give you the foundational information you need to get started, If you have been studying astrology a long time these cards will sharpen and refine your skills.
